Description of most common mistakes:

1. Improper choice of boiler power for the heated area.

Insufficient boiler power may result in inadequate heating of facilities, whilst excessive power may lead to water boiling in the boiler.

2. Cauldron assembly in closed system.

This is not consistent with the valid PN-91/B-02413 standard for solid fuel boilers. According to the standard, a compensatory vessel is required.

3. Improper choice of controller parameters.

This is the reason of many exploitative problems. The proper choice of controller parameters is a necessary condition for the correct functioning of a boiler.

4. Maladjustment of chimney to draft requirements.

The chimney must possess a proper draft for particular boiler type. Insufficient chimney draft may result in smoke appearance outside the boiler. Detailed information concerning draft requirements are enclosed in the manual.

5. The use of low quality fuels.

It may result in the decrease of boiler heat efficiency. The use of fuels contaminated with solids, such as nails, wires, glass, stones, may lead to damage of the movable grate element.

6.The use of boiler in temperature below 57°C.

When the boiler is being exploited in the temperature below 57°C (so-called “dew-point”), the surface of the boiler becomes humidified. This causes surface and pitting corrosion.

7. Irregular cleaning of the furnace interior from residue.

It may result in the decrease of boiler heat efficiency. Carbon black is an isolator.

8. The use of wood as the basic fuel.

It leads to the formation of residue inside a boiler.

9. Replenishment of water losses in the system while the furnace is heated.

There is a danger of boiler and heating installation leakage.

10. Improper electrical installation.

The electrical installation of the boiler should be equipped with a protection against short-circuit and overload (third wire).

11. Using excessive force whilst moving grates.

May lead to damage of movable grates.

12. Nie domykanie drzwiczek kotła.

May lead to water overheating/ boiling inside the boiler.

13. Setting excessive boiler temperature – above 70°C..

May lead to water overheating/ boiling inside the boiler.
